The Beginning or the End: Climate Change

The world has been around for millions of years before you and I were able to live in it. Throughout these years there have been many people, animals, and creatures that have gone through earth. Just like any living thing, in order for something to keep prospering and growing one must cherish and nourish it. The earth is not fragile but that doesn’t mean it should be taken advantage of. While some people may believe that Climate Change isn’t man made and doesn’t exist, there is plenty of evidence that suggests otherwise. People are slowly destroying the earth and many animals and environments are becoming uninhabitable. At this rate there will no longer be no world to live in.

Climate change and global warming are currently at their highest peak. Climate change is when a change in global or regional climate patterns, and particularly became more evident in the mid 20th century as there was an increase in the levels of fossil fuel and greenhouse gases. Hand in hand with that global warming is defined as “a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere” also caused by the increased levels of carbon dioxide and pollutants. It all started during the industrial revolution when machinary and factories had its natural boom of population and production. During the 1800’s people weren’t thinking about the possible effects it could have in the future, they were more worried about expanding and mass producing. In the mist revolution, “Air and water pollution came, for example, from coal burning, as well as most stages in the production of metals and basic chemicals. In the absence of suitable sanitation and refuse collection, waste from domestic sources caused additional problems”(). The revolution influenced so much society and it was a great site to see. It helped develop the technology we have today, but the benefits seem to outweigh the consequences we have coming.

Flash Forward to the 21st century, there are a lot of ongoing issues regarding the increase of global warming and the lack of help we are getting. There has been a tremendous increase in the amount of greenhouses that have been produced. According to NASA, “if the warming were caused by a more active Sun, then scientists would expect to see warmer temperatures in all layers of the atmosphere. Instead, they have observed a cooling in the upper atmosphere, and a warming at the surface and in the lower parts of the atmosphere. That’s because greenhouse gases are trapping heat in the lower atmosphere”(NASA). Greenhouse gases trap heat since sunlight travels through them thus causing the atmosphere to heat up.

Humans will be affected long term, but as of now animals are being forced out of their natural habitats since the environment is no longer suitable. (current effects)

In 20-30 years from now, cities will be going under due to rising sea levels.(Long Term affects).

Some individuals are convinced that climate change isn’t real and that humans are not the main cause. They believe (counter argument+rebuttal).

Mention possible solutions and how corona has helped climate change and give examples.

Conclusion.
